Before tonight's Super Bowl, the Bruins and Celtics will have completed games of their own on National broadcasts...
Quite a day today for Boston sports. The Bruins (27-17-7) face off in DC against the Capitals (28-17-6) with puck drop at 12:30 ET on NBC. It's been almost five years since Boston has beat the reigning Stanley Cup champs—could today be the day? The Capitals have been struggling, as they're just 1-5-2 in their last eight games, with that one win coming on Friday. Despite the Bruins being just 2-3-3 in their last eight themselves, today presents a great chance to take care of business and end their recent woes against the Caps. Head coach Bruce Cassidy has some minor changes for today's game:
Just about 90 minutes after puck drop in DC, the Celtics (33-19) will begin their nationally televised match on ABC against the Oklahoma City Thunder (33-18) at TD Garden. Boston is 8-1 in their last nine games, and 12-1 in their last 13 at home.
What a Sunday. Days like this are what we live for as fans!
